Executive Committee Overview

Roles and Responsibilities

The ASA Executive Committee:

  • oversees the day-to-day operation of the ASA

  • deals with issues that affect the entire organization

  • makes decisions on matters that do not require ASC approval or that need action before the next Council meeting

  • ensures that the ASA is meeting its short-term and long-term strategic goals

  • is ultimately responsible to the ASC for all decisions it makes

The ASA Executive Committee is composed of:

  • ASA President

  • ASA Vice President Communications

  • ASA Vice President Finance

  • ASA Vice President Student Life

  • ASA Executive Director

ASA Executive Committee members:

  • Sit on a variety of ASA, administrative, and UASU committees

  • Sit on ASA executive committee

  • Are signing authorities for the ASA

ASA President

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Is the Chief Executive Office and acts as the main spokesperson for the ASA

  • Guides the overall direction of the organization

  • Attends meetings and ensures good relations with stakeholders 

  • Have oversight with the ASA's strategic goals and ongoing projects

  • Chairs the Augustana Student Council

  • Chairs the ASA Executive Committee

ASA Vice President Communications

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages the ASA's social media channels and other communication tools with the overall goal of keeping student members updated and informed

  • Chairs the Awareness committee

ASA Vice President Finance

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Works with ongoing projects and opportunities to diversify the ASA's revenue base

  • Oversees the creation of an annual budget and 5 -year budget

  • Oversees the ASA’s financial policies, and funding decisions

  • Is responsible for the ASA’s Food Security Programming

  • Chairs the ASA’s BRC committee

ASA Vice President Student Life

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Focuses on events, clubs, services, and enhancing day-to-day student life

  • Plans and implements social events

  • Plans Wellness Week

  • Chairs the ASA’s Activities committee
